It is International Women’s Day 2021 today. Let us reflect on the first critical steps that we have taken toward making Optinova a nurturing workplace for people of all gender identities. As Optinova is committed to promoting the UN SDGs in our sustainability strategies, our gender policies closely align with the fifth goal: gender equality.
Over the years, we have:
- Built, communicated and executed a Group Equality Policy, in effect from December 2017 in all of our global group of companies
- Been honored to have the first woman Chairman of the Board since 2020, Ms. Rebecca Eriksson
- Maintained gender-balanced management teams at Optinova Group
We are rapidly transforming from a traditional manufacturing firm to an agile organization that is future-looking and focused on promoting equality and diverse gender groups for leadership positions.
We understand that there is a lot more to do for gender equality, especially in local production companies. Still, we are proud of what we have done to celebrate diversity and incorporated inclusion into the fabrics of our culture. As every journey starts with the small steps, let us continue on our progress and work towards achieving every UN SDG, including the fifth SDG: gender equality.
Even if we are still at the very beginning of our journey, we have made it clear that we have zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind. We are privileged to have had full support from the owners and every Optinovian to pursue and further this effort.
