Optinova’s Coltex™ ePTFE Joint Sealant

Coltex^TM is Optinova’s high-performing joint sealant solution made of expanded PTFE.

Coltex^TM offers the unique properties of PTFE in a soft and durable sealing product. Coltex^TM is highly versatile, allowing it to conform to irregular sealing surfaces. It provides excellent sealing for flanges, pipes, containers and other surfaces in high pressure environments. Coltex^TM is available as string or gasket tape, with or without adhesive.

Optinova can provide raw materials with FDA and/or USP Class VI approval. Our ePTFE joint sealant tapes are available in all standard sizes, yet bespoke dimensions can be made upon request.

Usage manual for Coltex^TM

1. Choose an appropriate gasket width
2. Clean the surface for optimal adhesion
3. Remove oil, graphite and other residue
4. Position Coltex^TM near the starting bolt
5. Remove the adhesive backing slowly
6. Allow Coltex^TM ends to overlap 2-3 cm
7. Cut away the overlapping parts
8. Tighten the bolts 2-4 times crosswise
