In 2019, we sold our two plants in Plymouth and Maple Plain. But we have always known for a fact that we will return to manufacturing in the US. Thus, today we are excited to announce that we have signed the contracts to set up a new factory in the US and are now starting with the transition.
With the new manufacturing facility in place, we realize our ambition to produce and supply tubing locally in the US. This is our effort to accelerate the time-to-market of our tubing as well as significantly reduce operational costs. Optinova’s sales office in Danbury, CT will continue toserve the US medical and industrial markets from our facilities right here in the Americas. The new plant is approximately 95 000 ft² (8 825 m²) and able to accomodate over 20 advanced extrusion lines.
The transition process will commence immediately as we monitor the Covid-19 pandemic. We are privileged to have received interests from many of our long-term business partners in the project. And we cannot wait to hit the ground running from Q2 of 2021. For more detailed information about the new capabilities that are added to our portfolio thanks to the new US plant, do not hesitate to contact our global sales team. Let us start discussing your business needs and make your first orders today. We are at your disposal if you have any questions.
This is a great milestone for our global manufacturing capacity. We are now able to increase time-to-market of our tubing in the US.
